City of San Fernando — At least 12,290 Grade IV Pupils from public elementary schools in the province benefited from the dengue vaccine given by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) through Dengue School Based Immunization Program.
Ching Yalung, provincial coordinator of the expanded program on immunization (EPI) said the program started in April last year with more than 35,000 grade IV pupils getting the first dose booster of the vaccine.
Yalung said that the immunization of the pupils is being administered every six months. But due to incidence of drop out and transfer of residence, the number of pupils for the 2nd booster decreased to 30,459.
She said that the 3rd booster of immunization will last until August, this year.
