CLARK FREEPORT — Twenty-five employees from various companies here have qualified for the semi-final round of the 3rd ‘Clark Idol’ spearheaded by Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
Around 50 hopefuls have auditioned for the competition but only half of the participants reached the third round.
The 25 contenders will showcase their singing talents in the next round to be held on February 23 at the Event Center of SM City Clark.
Roxy Gorospe, Robin Flores and Rene Philip Banzon served as the panel of judges who identified deserving hopefuls to take part in the competition.
The event was also in partnership with Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA).
‘Clark Idol’ started in 2009 as part of the event ‘Pasko sa Clark’ and with its successful staging, they decided to make it a separate activity which took place at Clark Museum.
According to the creative director of the event CDC Marketing Officer Rodel “Poy” Lorenzo, the contest serves as a way to create camaraderie between employees within the Freeport.
Lorenzo said “(w)hat better way to show camaraderie among the workers in Clark but with a little competition.”
He added that this also creates a platform for the employees to show their talent through singing.
“Filipinos love to sing, so this is a way of showing off their talents. Doesn’t matter what you look like but must have star quality,” Lorenzo said.
At stake is P50,000 cash and trophy for the champion, P20,000 and trophy 2nd place, and P10,000 and trophy for 3rd place and consolation prizes for the finalists.
