Mabalacat City holds 2nd swim meet

The local government headed by Mayor Marino Morales in coordination with the Central Lluzon Swimming Coaches Association sponsored a swimming event joined by 102 swimmers from Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, San Fernando and Angeles City on February 26 at the Fontana Leisure Park Olympic Pool in Clark, Pampanga.

Dubbed as the Singkabilis Kawe, the participating groups are the Cabalen Sharks Swim School, Agyu Tamu Angeles City, Mabalacat City Flying Barracuda Swimming Team, Clark Dolphins Swim Club and Zambales Tri Team.

“Ito ay naging possible dahil sa tiwala at suporta ni Mayor Boking Morales. Ginaganap ang swimming event na ito para ma-tap at ma-train na rin ang mga kabataan in preparation for the CLRAA and Palarong Pambansa. Ang swimming cup rin ay naglalayong hasain ang talent ng mga willing sumali kahit hindi sila athlete,” MCFBST Assistant Coach Cezar Ryan Castro said.

The most outstanding swimmers are Geoel Micole Agcaracar of Montessori High School of St. Nicholas (3 gold and 4 silver medals), Chadie Chen of Don Bosco Academy (4 gold and 2 silver medals), Louis Migvel Cruz – Dona Asuncion Lee Integrated School (3 gold medals and 1 bronze medal), Kyla Laguna of School of the Infant Jesus (4 gold medals and 2 silver medals) and Shan Kervie Medina of Sta. Ines Elementary School (4 gold medals and 2 silver medals).

Moreover, MCFBST Head Coach said this city’s swimming team has produced 7 gold, 3 silver and 16 bronze medals in the recently concluded Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) 2017 held in Bulacan.

The qualifiers for the Palarong Pambansa are Joshua Santiago, Louis Migvel Cruz, Dwane Cruz and Kyla Laguna (reserved player).
For his part, Dueǹas commended the utmost support of the city government, parents, coaches and teachers to the MCFBST.

Elmer Vidas of Makro Sharks, Rolly dela Cruz of Cabalen Sharks, Abela Sotto of Dau Elementary School and Ma. Cristina Briones of Dau Homesite Elementary School also assisted in the said swimming cup.

The Mabalacat City Flying Barracuda Swimming Team vowed to remain committed to developing champions in swimming and in life.
