Amai Pakpak Medical Center in Marawi City get supplies

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delivered medical supplies to the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (AMPC), the only health facility inside Marawi City that treats sick and wounded people affected by the ongoing clashes in Marawi City.

In 2017, the APMC became one of seven hospitals in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao to receive quarterly delivery of medical supplies for the treatment of wounded patients. The first donation to the APMC was made in April, just a month before the hostilities erupted in Marawi City.

The Department of Health estimated that more than 30,000 people have been injured in the conflict that erupted on May 23, highlighting the strain on health facilities and services in Marawi and the region.

The ICRC donation included infusion sets, dressing sets, tetanus vaccines, essential medicines such as antibiotics and painkillers, and medical supplies that could serve around 200 patients for three months.
