CSF beefs up anti-drug campaign

The City of San Fernando is beefing up its Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) to support the relentless anti-drug campaign of the Duterte administration.

Mayor Edwin D. Santiago had signed an Executive Order that reorganizes the CADAC, which is chaired by the mayor and co-chaired by Chief of Police Supt. Jean Fajardo, to address issues on the increasing number of drug surrenderees in the city.

Santiago said that around 1,000 individuals have already submitted themselves to the police since PNP’s ‘Oplan Tokhang’ was intensified.

The city government aims to boost anti-illegal drug reformation and reintegration program through psychological counseling and sports-related programs that will promote the engagement of the suspected drug users and pushers in physical fitness activities.

“Magkakaroon tayo ng mga palaro para sa kanila at bibigyan din natin sila ng papremyo para yung attention nila ma-divert sa sports sa halip na sa iligal na bisyo,” Santiago added.

Recently, more than 200 drug surrenderees participated in the zumba and boodle fight activity held in the city.
