Duterte appoints Bataan ex-gov’s son as Assistant Secretary

MANILA – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has appointed Atty. Martin Kristoffer Francisco Roman as Assistant Secretary at the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel headed by Atty. Salvador Panelo, Office of the President.

Atty. Kris Roman, as he is fondly called by relatives and friends, is the 3rd son of former Bataan Governor Leonardo “Ding” B. Roman and second degree cousin of Bataan 1st District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman. Former Bataan Rep. Tony Roman, Geraldine’s dad, and former Gov. Ding Roman were cousins.


This 31 year-old lawyer graduated at the Ateneo Law School and a former associate at Sycip Salazar Hernandez Gatmaitan law firm. Roman also studied Philosophy at the University of the Philippines Diliman and also a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila High School.

He is also into martial arts.
“ASec. Kris” resides in Quezon City with his wife Bunny and also have their residential house in Balanga City.

He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP Bataan Chapter).
