Mimosa observes World Earth Day in CDC recycling event

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – Quest Hotel and Conference Center – Clark and Mimosa Golf participate for the second time in Clark Development Corporation’s Recyclables Collection Event in celebration of World Earth Day.

The delegation from Mimosa Cityscapes Inc. (MCI), formed by Quest Hotel and Mimosa Golf, is led by Hotel Manager Ricardo Lopez.

The hotel management turned over 92 depleted lead- acid batteries, eight drums of used oil, 1,300 busted bulbs, and box cartons. The used lead- acid batteries came from the golf carts of Mimosa Golf, while the light bulbs formerly lit various areas of the hotel.

The funds donated to Bantay Kalikasan by MCI is Php 45,514. The money will be used for the program’s environmental efforts nationwide.

International Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 this year.

Present in the occasion are also organizers and representatives from different environmental groups such as the Environmental Practitioners Association (EPA), the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau R-III (DENR-EMB III), and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. (ALKFI) which has two notable projects during the annual recyclables event: Bantay Kalikasan, ALKFI’s environmental arm, and Bantay Baterya.

Bantay Baterya and its partner group, automotive and industrial car batteries manufacturer Motolit e, will convert these scrap batteries into plastic chips and ingots.

This is the 17th recyclables event CDC has successfully organized.
