Six drug dealers killed, 11 others nabbed in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan — Six alleged drug dealers were killed when they engaged lawmen into a firefight in separate encounters while 11 other suspects were arrested in different parts of Bulacan over the weekend.

Bulacan Provincial Police Director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., said the six suspects were killed in armed encounters in Malolos, Marilao and Bocaue.

Caramat identified the six as Areld Lopez, 38, and a resident of Phase 2B Menzyland Subd., Brgy. Stma Trinidad, Malolos City, Bulacan; Roberto Umali Paragas, 33, and a resident of Binata St., Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City; Aldrin Macaraig Data, also a resident of Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City; a certain “Toni”; and two unidentified males.

Caramat said that based from the report of Supt. Heryl Bruno, Chief of Police (COP) of Malolos City Police Station, the suspect with an alias “Toni” who tried to evade arrest was killed in a gunfight during the buy-bust operation conducted on August 6, 2017.

Lopez also resisted arrest and pulled out a short firearm from his waist and traded shots with the arresting police. Recovered from Toni were one improvised shotgun loaded with one 12GA fired cartridge case, four caliber 9mm fired cartridge cases, five small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu, one aluminum foil strip, three disposable lighters, one pair of scissors and buy-bust money.

The police ecovered one calibet rrevolver loaded with three fired cartridge, four 9mm fired cartridge cases, one deformed fired bullet, one Huawei cellphone, one Metrobank ATM card, one withdrawal PNB receipt, three One Hundred Peso bill marked money and seven plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu with a weight of 0.0028 amounting to more or less P2,100.00.

Meanwhile, PSUPT Supt. Amado Mendoza Jr., Chief of Marilao PNP reported that a telephone call from 911 informing Marilao PS that a certain Milan Singh called and reported that motorcycle riding suspects tried to grab his sling bag while he was standing along Villarica Road, Brgy. Sta. Rosa 1, Marilao, Bulacan. When the victim shouted for help, he caught the attention of the public prompting the suspects to flee. However, personnel of said station who were on patroling, came across with the suspects and when they were about to be accosted for verification, a gunfight ensued which resulted in the death of Roberto Umali Paragas and Aldrin Macaraig Data.

Bulacan SOCO Team collected one caliber .22 revolver marked “Comanche” with defaced serial number loaded with five ammunitions and one fired cartridge case, one caliber .38 revolver (Smith & Wesson) without serial number loaded with three ammunitions and one fired cartridge case and two small transparent plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu.

In Bocaue,Caramat said that Supt. Jowen dela Cruz, Bocaue police chief, reported that police patrollers of Bocaue MS were conducting police visibility when they notice a suspicious speeding motorcycle with two men onboard.

The patrollers attempted to stop the suspects for verification but instead they swiftly drew and fired towards the mobile patrollers which hit the front portion of the patrol car. A gunfight ensued which resulted to the death of the two unknown suspects.

Further, a certain Robejon Fiestas y Cañete, 28 years old, siopao vendor at Brgy Biñang 2nd, Bocaue, Bulacan positively identified the suspects as the same persons who at gun point carted away his cellphone e- reloader at about 9pm on August 5, 2017 which he reported to the barangay.

Bulacan Soco Team recovered one ARMSCOR caliber .38 revolver with SN 869561, loaded with one fired carthdridge and four ammunitions, one caliber .38 revolver without serial number loaded with six ammunitions, six fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm, one (1) fired cartridge case of caliber 45, two (2) sachets of supected shabu, one Yamaha Mio motorcycle without plate number and the BS Mobile A7 Android cellphone owned by Robejon Fiestas.

Caramat also announced that eleven 11 other suspects were arrested in different police operations conducted in Bulacan, Norzagaray, Pandi, Bustos, Pulilan and San Rafael. The suspects were identified as Manuel Jervie Sarmiento y Bondoc, Reymark Medina y De Jesus, Joseph Sarmineto y Erandio alias Baba/Bobby, Lazaro De Guzman Jr y Lopez Baños alias Zarong, Ruel Supero y Sansan, Maritess Tamares y Pagiligan alias Thess/Tikya, Dino Cobreros y Maraya alias Dino, Rodolfo Manalili y Felix Jr. alias “Baki”, Dennis Santos y Bautista alias Unggo, Mary Jane Garcia y Manahan alias “Jing”, and Randy Dela Fuente Y Toledo alias Tusok.

Recovered from the arrested suspects were a total of 23 plastic sachets of alleged shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia, a foil strip with suspected marijuana residue and marked money.

The arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for examination while appropriate criminal complaints against them are now being readied against them. — Emil G. Gamos
