As one of the partner institutions for the Global Peace Foundation, Mabalacat City College (MCC) sent some of its students in the recently concluded Global Peace Leadership Conference held last December 1-3, 2022, at Marriott Hotel Clark as performers, journalists, and ushers.
The MCC Presidentโs Chorale proudly showcased their unique talents as they sung the doxology and the Philippine National Anthem during the opening program. The Presidentโs Chorale also serenaded the crowd with their intermission song titled โMinsan Lang Kita Iibiginโ and their own originally translated Kapampangan version of โWhere Peace Beginsโ, the official song of the Global Peace Foundation.
Student journalists of the college, taking up BSED English program, also took part in different plenary sessions and forums where they got the chance to practice their journalism course as they were able to interview prominent stakeholders from multi-sectoral companies, industries, and organizations. The students were also able to write various news articles about the conference that were used by the Global Peace Foundation in their various communication platforms.
MCCโs tourism students also took part in the event as ushers and usherettes. They were tasked to welcome guests and direct them to their seats at various function rooms. The students were able to exercise their communication skills and other competencies and skills related to the tourism industry.
The 3-day event brought together thousands of participants from the Philippines and countries in the Asia Pacific region including peace practitioners and experts, educators, students and youth leaders, religious leaders, civil society leaders, government stakeholders, NGOs, school administrators and media representatives.
