CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – Over 100,000 freeport workers and residents of nearby communities are set to benefit from the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark which becomes operational this 4th quarter of 2025.
The facility will have a total bed capacity of 143, consisting of 17 private rooms, 16 semi-private rooms, and 110 ward beds.
During the recent inspection of the hospital, Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma affirmed his agency’s commitment to the project, emphasizing that health is a fundamental component of worker protection and productivity.
“If you’re an ordinary worker and you fall sick, your entire family suffers financially. This is what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. advocates for—a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach. This hospital is a model worth supporting and replicating,” he said.
Meanwhile, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez noted the hospital’s potential as a training hub for healthcare professionals, in line with President Marcos’ directive to prioritize modular and ladderized healthcare training.
“We will use this site to train future healthcare workers, working in harmony with other government programs to ensure the delivery of quality services. This facility showcases how local government units and national agencies can work hand-in-hand,” he added.
The Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark was built through the collaboration of the provincial government of Pampanga, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), and Clark Development Corporation.
About P465 million was spent for its construction wherein the provincial government earmarked P205 million, DOH allotted P100 million, and PAGCOR allocated P160 million.
The provincial government is set to allot an additional P158 million for the initial purchase of medical equipment. (MJSC/MAGP, PIA Region 3-Pampanga GIP)
