Intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted by the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) have resulted in the arrests of 128 individuals and the confiscation of 403.681 grams of shabu amounting to more than P2.7 million.
ACPO City Director Joyce Patrick Sangalang said they conducted 62 operations and apprehended 128 individuals involved in illegal gambling and illegal drugs including a member of the notorious Ramos Group which is into robbery and illegal drugs trade.
Sangalang said confiscated from those involved in illegal drugs were 235 sachets of shabu amounting to P2.7 million. Also confiscated were four sachets of dried marijuana leaves amounting to P14,400; and three motorcycles.
Sangalang said the police operations were conducted from September 17 up to September 27 as a proactive measure to preempt criminal activities particularly illegal drugs trade and illegal gambling. The operations also involved the arrests of wanted persons, violators of Bayanihan Heal as One Act, implemention of search warrants, and recovery of loose firearms.
A total of 36 individuals were arrested for illegal gambling and P3,876.00 was confiscated. There were 25 violators of Bayanihan Heal as One Act that were arrested while two loose firearms were recovered. 36 firearms with expired license were also surrendered for safekeeping.
Meanwhile, the ACPO also announced the arrest of Joey Liad, 44 years old, of Sitio San Lorenzo Ruiz Barangay Sapalibutad, Angeles City on Tuesday.
Liad is reportedly a member of the Dantes Group involved in robbery hold-ups in Angeles City and the provinces of Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija. Five members of Dantes Criminal Group were already arrested by Angeles City Police Station 3 on August 23, 2020.
Liad was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by RTC Branch 56 Assistting Judge Rodrigo Del Rosario for robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
No bail was recommended.
