Two alleged members of local drug groups were arrested during separate buy-bust operations in Zamboanga Sibugay and Oriental Mindoro.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Glen Lagara y Esperas, an alleged member of Matiz Drug Group, and Elton Casidsid y Tacasa, member of Magtibay Drug Group, who are considered high-value target drug personalities.
Lagara was arrested at around 8:30 PM on April 5, 2019 by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office IX (PDEA RO IX) under the supervision of Atty. Jacquelyn L. de Guzman, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Branch (ZSPPO-PIB), and local police in Purok Narra, Barangay Lower Taway, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Confiscated during the operation were four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less six grams, with an estimated value of Php40,800.00, one coin purse, one motorcycle and the buy-bust money.
At around 4:50 PM on April 6, 2018, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office MIMAROPA (PDEA RO MIMAROPA) under the supervision of Director Mario D. Ramos, and local police arrested Casidsid, 57 years old, in So Centro II, Barangay Orconuma, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, and seized one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.01 gram, with an estimated value of P500.00, one motorcycle and the buy-bust money.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against the suspects.
