CAMP TOMAS J. PEPITO – Angeles City police arrested two members of a gun-for-hire group during its intensified “Oplan Salikop.”
Angeles City police chief Col. Rommel Batangan identified the suspects as Ricardo Malig and Edgar Manalastas, both members of Lazo crime group involved in gun running, syndicated estafa, fraud, counterfeit bank notes and false treasury operating in the cities of Mabalacat and Angeles, in Pampanga and nearby provinces.
Batangan said members of the Pampanga and Angeles CIDG and SWAT team conducted on Thursday an entrapment at Cafe Forest on Arayat Road, Barangay Pampang, Angeles City against the suspects.
Authorities seized from Malig a sling bag containing a .38 revolver loaded with six live bullets, a fragmentation grenade, a cellphone used in his transactions, an ID belonging to a certain Guiao and P1,000 marked money. Manalastas yielded a loaded .38 pistol, fragmentation grenade, a cell phone and a motorcycle key.
Batangan said the two suspects will be charged with violation of RA 10591 and RA 9516.
