ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. ordered today the Angeles City Police Office to set up check points 24 hours in all entry and exit points of the city to restrict the entry of foreign nationals from countries severely hit by Corona Virus (COVID 19).
“Beginning tonight (12 midnight), the city will be stricter on the entry of foreign nationals in the city. We have asked for the guidance of DOH and DILG on this matter,” Lazatin said.
The countries are: China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Japan, Iran and Italy. Lazatin met this morning with Department of Health Official (DOH) in Region III Director Cesar Cassion and Department of Interior and Local Government City Official Martin Moral, who recommended the restrictions.
Lazatin said he will do everything in his power to protect his citizens. He is also set to meet with mall managers this afternoon to discuss precautionary measures against COVID 19.
Further, he is set to meet with Department of Education (DepEd) officials, private school officials and day care officials tomorrow for the city-wide disinfection.
The city government will provide disinfection agents to all public and private schools.
Lazatin is also set to convene the Angeles City Local Price Committee Council to monitor prices of goods and the Angeles City Local Health Board for other precautionary measures.
