MALOLOS CITY — About 25 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) recently graduated from the ‘Kapatid Mentor ME’ (KMME) Program of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
They completed an 11-week mentoring program which was done in partnership with Go Negosyo.
DTI Provincial Director Zorina Aldana said mentees, hailing from different parts of the province, established various businesses all specializing in food products.
“Five of the mentees established companies focusing on sweets; four centered on mushroom products; three pursued condiments and assorted food products; two worked with turmeric-themed companies, bakeshops, and meat products such as longganisa; and one each on herbal tea, ice cream, fish, and buko (coconut) products,” she shared.
“Some of their products already comply with national standards on food safety and currently dominating local markets,” Aldana furthered.
Aldana reiterated that the KMME gave mentees opportunity to learn new things for their businesses through scrutinizing and looking for better ways of improvement.
The mentees had 10 modules to study within the 11-week program.
These include Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting & Values Formation; Marketing; The Business Model Canvass/What Help Do We Need: Support From Other Institutions; Product Development/Assessment and Innovation; Operations Management; Supply and Value Chain; Human Resource and Organization Management; Entrepreneurial Accounting and Financial Management; Taxation; and Business Law.
