CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — A total of 267 households in barangay Alula in Talugtug, Nueva Ecija now benefit from the five deep well water pumps funded by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
“These pumps would really help farmlands of the village which rely on rainwater that result to single cropping every year,” DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Administration Irene Crespo said.
Crespo told the beneficiaries to treat these pumps as “part of the family” that is when it malfunctions, the community must work together to repair it for long term use.
A total of Php2.23 million was used for the project of which Php2.13 million was sourced from DSWD’s Kapit-Bisig Laban Sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services.
About PhP85,821 came from the municipal government while PhP11,000 from the barangay government.
