30 Mabalacat seniors get P 20,000 financial assistance

Some 30 senior citizens aged 90 years old and above were given P20,000 worth of financial assistance by the city government of Mabalacat.

City Ordinance No. 55 Series of 2016 states that a senior citizen ages 90 years old and has resided in Mabalacat City is entitled to avail of the one-time financial assistance amounting to P20,000.

City Mayor Marino Morales, Vice Mayor Christian Halili and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Josephine Tanglao led the distribution of checks during the flag raising ceremony on Monday at the City Hall.

“This is a manifestation of love and affection da reng cabalen tamu. Reng Mabalaqueños malugud la kareng pengari da. No one gets forgotten, no one gets left behind. Number one priority taya pu ing pamilya,” Morales said.

The recipients were Catalina Lavarias, Barangay Sapang Biabas, 94; Celerina Pare,Mabiga,90; Consolacion Santos,Mabiga,91; Demetria Razon,Sapang Biabas,95; Fausta Pangan,Sapang Biabas,90; Ignacia Fabia, Sapang Biabas,90;Leonila Sanguyu, Mabiga, 91; Paulina Rivera,Mabiga,93; Elena Sunio, San Joaquin, 100; Lucial Sison Bagsic, Lakandula, 92; Virginia Sampang, Sta. Ines, 92; Cecilia Torres, Lakandula, 102; Encarnacon Tiglao, Poblacion, 99; Amalia Dizon, Poblacion,92; and Bienvenido Concepcion, Sto. Rosario, 92; Constancia Palo, Sta. Ines,91.

Morales was assisted by Councilors Atty. Gerald Guttrie Aquino, Rogelio Yumul, Rox Peña, Eddie Sotto, Bok Tiglao, Jerry Basilio and Dan Bayani.

The other beneficiaries were Narcisa Flores, Dau, 95; Aurelio Del Mundo, Dau, 91; Crisencia Aquino, Paralayunan, 94; Sofronio Rint, Dau, 90; Lourdes Reyes,Dau, 91; Andrea Sierra, Dau, 93; Julian Muñoz, Dau, 90; Juana Castro, 93, San Francisco; Salvador Santos, San Francisco, 92; Florentina Dela Cruz, San Francisco, 91; Conrado Tuazon, San Francisco, 92; Salome Escoto Tang, San Francisco, 92; Daniela Aquino, San Francisco, 96; and Emilio Bungay, Mamatitang, 92.

Section 9 of Ordinance No. 55 also states that in the event that the 90 year-old senior citizen dies without receiving the one-time financial assistance, has dementia, and/or is incapacitated and can no longer make proper decisions, his/her surviving legal heirs shall receive the proceeds in the form of financial assistance which shall be share equally among them.
