3,674 arrested in Central Luzon crime crackdown

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 3,674 individuals were arrested in Central Luzon during a nearly five-month intensified anti-criminality campaign by the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), authorities reported on Tuesday, June 10.

From January 10 to June 8, 2025, police operations across the region led to the arrest of 783 most wanted persons and 2,891 other wanted individuals. The efforts are part of PRO3’s heightened campaign in response to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen law enforcement and ensure public safety.

Among the most wanted individuals apprehended were 35 suspects with murder charges, 155 involved in rape cases, 24 connected to robbery, 124 with drug-related offenses, and 445 facing various other charges.

PRO3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jean S. Fajardo said the results show the effectiveness of coordinated and intelligence-driven operations.

“We will not allow criminals to escape the hand of the law,” said Fajardo. “These arrests, especially of those involved in heinous crimes, send a strong message — accountability is inevitable. We remain committed to protecting our communities.”

Fajardo praised the dedication of PRO3 personnel and emphasized the role of solid intelligence work, swift action, and seamless coordination in their success.

The campaign’s accomplishments, she added, reflect the police force’s commitment to the Marcos administration’s goal of a “Bagong Pilipinas” — a safer, more orderly, and just nation.

The operations were conducted under the leadership of PNP Chief General Nicolas D. Torre III, in close coordination with the national government.
