The Provincial Government of Pampanga, led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, extended assistance to 400 dialysis patients from the 4th District of Pampanga.
Governor Delta and Vice Governor Nanay personally visited the patients to check on their well-being together with Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit, Apalit Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, Macabebe Vice Mayor Vince Flores, and Dr. Kaye Naguit at the Apalit Dialysis Center on Tuesday, October 22.
Each patient received P 2,000 cash assistance to help cover their medical expenses.
The said assistance is part of the expanded “Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care Program,” which aims to provide ongoing support for individuals undergoing regular dialysis treatment.
Among the beneficiaries is Mr. Reynaldo, a 58-year-old resident of Colgante, Apalit, who has been on dialysis for the past two years due to kidney damage.
Although previously employed as a seaman, Mr. Reynaldo shared that the cost of dialysis treatments and medications has placed a significant financial strain on his family. He expressed deep gratitude for the continued support provided by the provincial government.
“Governor Delta and Nanay’s support is a lifeline for those of us undergoing dialysis,” Mr. Reynaldo remarked.
In addition to financial aid, each patient received a packs of rice, maintenance medicines good for three months, and free doses of epoetin, a drug essential for managing anemia in dialysis patients.
