AT LEAST 465 families in Capas, Tarlac received land titles during a recent ceremony attended by Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo.
The beneficiaries are living at the O’Donnell Resettlement Area in Capas.
Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aguirre Aquino IV also graced the land title distribution along wth Tarlac Gov. Susan Yap and Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan .
In her message, Robredo stressed that the awarding of land titles is a legal protection and can ease the burdens of the residents.
“I have also been a lawyer for the informal settlers and I know that these land titles give assurance to them they own the land and no one can evict them from their home,” Robredo said.
She thanked the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Registry of Deeds and National Housing Authority for making the distribution possible.
Yap, for her part, told the beneficiaries to take care of the land they just acquired.
“Take good care of the land you just receive…they are yours now,” said the first-term governor.
