5 young judo athletes from Pampanga earn medals in national competition

City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Five athletes from the Shin Ko Judo Club Pampanga brought honor to the province after securing medals at the 3rd Philippine Ultimate Judo Championships International Open held in Manila on October 4–5, 2025.

In recognition of their achievements, the athletes paid a courtesy visit to Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda on Monday, October 27, to personally extend their gratitude for the continuous financial assistance and support provided by the Provincial Government of Pampanga in their training and participation in various competitions.

In the Seniors Category, Althea Wilson earned a silver medal in the 63 kg division. In the Kids Category, Flint Danganan won a bronze medal in the 27 kg division, Miguel Roque secured silver in the 40 kg division, Kirsten Roque took bronze in the 44 kg division, and Eunice Bermudo garnered bronze in the 57 kg division.

The Shin Ko Judo Club Pampanga expressed that the athletes’ success represents not only a milestone for their team but also a testament to the province’s commitment to developing young athletes who excel in their respective sports.

The Provincial Government of Pampanga continues to extend its unwavering support to homegrown athletes, reinforcing Governor Pineda’s advocacy of promoting sports development and nurturing the potential of the youth across the province.
