CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — A total of 69 former rebels in Central Luzon surrendered to authorities from January 10 to June 4, 2025 in line with the national government’s intensified campaign against insurgency.

The surrenderees received livelihood and reintegration assistance through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

In addition to the surrenderees, 135 individuals also withdrew their support from the communist-terrorist groups (CTG), indicating greater awareness of the harms of armed conflict and a stronger trust in the peace process.

Authorities also recovered 108 firearms and 31 explosive devices during the said period, weakening the operational capacity of CTGs.

Former Police Regional Office 3 Chief PBGen. Jean Fajardo cited collaboration among stakeholders and communities, especially in areas that are vulnerable to communist recruitment and insurgency.

“These achievements reflect our strong partnership with local stakeholders and the growing trust of communities in government efforts. Every surrendered firearm and every rebel who chooses peace marks another step towards a safer and more progressive Central Luzon,” she said.

Likewise, the police office reaffirmed its commitment to sustain peace-building initiatives and uphold the safety and welfare of the public through continuous counter-insurgency efforts and community engagements. (CLJD/MJSC, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
