TARLAC CITY – About 700 residents of Sitio Burog, Barangay San Vicente in Bamban, Tarlac will benefit from a newly inaugurated 150-meter deep well facility and a recently launched community garden.
The project was spearheaded by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in partnership with Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) , Manila Water Foundation, Clark Water Corporation, Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc., and World Vision Development Foundation.
On behalf of CDC President and CEO Agnes Devanadera, Vice President for Security Services Lina Sarmiento emphasized the state firm’s commitment to inclusive development in Clark and its surrounding communities.
“We are pleased with our partners because they know that our community here is one of the most important symbols of our identity in Central Luzon. And we know that no one should be left behind, and they are with us so that you can keep up with progress. Especially here in the neighboring areas of Clark. The areas next to them are progressing, so the people of Sitio Burog should also progress alongside us,” Sarmiento said.
In support of long-term community empowerment, 30 goats were distributed to Ayta families in Sitio Burog as part of the livelihood assistance program, alongside key water and agricultural initiatives.
The project is a component of the Roots to Shoots program, a three-year multi-stakeholder effort led by PSFI, focusing on health and nutrition; food security and livelihood; and water access, sanitation, and hygiene to improve the well-being of undernourished communities in the country.
