BALANGA CITY — A total of 73 youngsters in Bataan attended a virtual youth forum on adolescent health organized by the Philippine Information Agency.
Balanga City Health Office Program Coordinator Oliver Enriquez shared best practices in promoting adolescent health to the youth especially to women.
These include Healthy Adolescent Participating in Program for Youth Club (HAPPY Club), Tobacco-Free Generation and the HIV-AIDS prevention advocacy campaign.
“We aim to improve the health status of adolescent and to enable them to enjoy their right to health,” Enriquez said.
“We also ensure that all adolescents have access to quality comprehensive healthcare services in an adolescent-friendly environment,” he added.
Meanwhile, Balanga City Youth Health Ambassador Madeleon Marantal shared that they are still assisting the youth via their Facebook page-HAPPY Club Peer Facilitators as well as online meetings amid the pandemic.
“HAPPY Club aims to utilize health services, adopt healthy behaviors, avoid taking risky behaviors, and participate in healthy community development where no youth will be left behind,” she explained.
The webinar was done in partnership with Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Bataan and Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo- Bataan.
