Incumbents retain key posts in Bataan elections

BALANGA CITY – The Provincial Board of Canvassers (PBOC) has officially proclaimed the winners of the 2025 local elections in Bataan, following a peaceful and orderly voting process. 

The results affirmed strong public support for incumbent officials and their allies, who secured key provincial and congressional posts with significant margins.

Incumbent Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III won the gubernatorial race with 388,011 votes, defeating his opponent Estrella Santos.

In the vice gubernatorial race, incumbent Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia also won by a wide margin, receiving 350,668 votes against JV Coronel. 

“Sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan, maraming maraming salamat po sa pagtitiwala na ibinigay ninyo sa lahat ng atin pong mga elected officials. Umasa po kayo na magtutulong-tulong po ang bawat isa mula po sa probinsya hanggang sa atin pong mga munisipyo at sa ating mga barangay upang makapagbigay ng mas maayos pa at dekalidad na serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan (To all our fellow citizens, thank you very, very much for the trust you have given to all of our elected officials. Rest assured that everyone, from the provincial level to our municipalities and our barangays, will work together to provide better and higher quality service to our people),” Governor Garcia said, thanking the voters for their support.

He added that in the next three years, the provincial government will focus on key programs in health, education, labor and employment, and peace and order.

In the congressional races, Atty. Antonino Roman III was proclaimed the representative of Bataan’s 1st District after running unopposed and receiving 114,677 votes. 

He is the brother of incumbent Representative Geraldine Roman, who was term-limited and did not seek re-election but actively supported his candidacy.

In the 2nd District, incumbent Representative Albert Garcia also ran unopposed and won with 149,614 votes. 

For the 3rd District, reelectionist Maria Angela Garcia secured victory with 144,517 votes, defeating her opponent Ernesto Manalo.

The PBOC also proclaimed the winning board members for each district. 

In the 1st District, Atty. Jomar Gaza led with 77,731 votes, followed by Mylene Serrano with 71,378 votes, and Doc Bong Galicia with 66,106 votes. 

For the 2nd District, the elected board members are Iya Roque with 116,405 votes, Noel Valdecañas with 101,538 votes, and Vic Baluyot with 101,279 votes. 

In the 3rd District, the proclaimed winners are Popoy Del Rosario with 109,171 votes, Angel Sunga with 99,286 votes, Doctor Jorge Estanislao with 96,947 votes, and Bro. Harold Espeleta with 85,464 votes.

All elected officials are expected to assume office on June 30, in line with the official start of their new terms. (CLJD.RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
