TARLAC CITY — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tarlac together with the City Government of Tarlac and Smoke-Free Task Force recently convened to implement and strengthen the smoking ban campaign in the provincial capital.
“There is an impending need to intensify existing measures on access restriction, including the regulation of sales, distribution and availability of cigarettes and other tobacco products,” DILG Tarlac City Local Government Operations Officer Danilo Rillera said.
Moreover, City Administrator Officer Numer Lobo stressed that the city government of Tarlac took its first step in order to enforce necessary actions that would protect and uplift the right of the people to public health.
Highlights of the meeting include draft of Executive Order of the Local Chief Executive, organization of the smoke-free task force and their functions, and information-education campaign materials and signages.
Also, penalties for violations/prohibited acts, Department of Health smoking cessation program and citation ticket. –Cherie Joyce V. Flores
