ANGELES CITY – Victoria Lazatin-Angeles, president of the Republic Central Colleges (RCC), launched a book about her father, former
Angeles City Mayor and Pampanga Governor Rafael L. Lazatin.
Victoria released the book entitled ‘Rafael his life and times’ on November 7 during the 114th birthday of the late public servant. Among those who attended the launching was former Angeles City Mayor and First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, only brother of
Victoria.
“When Tatang (Rafael) passed away on November 20,1993 at the age of 87,I wanted t write a book about his life to memorialize his legacy.
While I did not know how to go about it then, I realized that it is a dream which needs to be fulfilled and most fittingly before Tatang’s
25th death anniversary,” said Victoria.
According to the book, Rafael was also a former municipal councilor, provincial board member, municipal mayor and assemblyman. The book
also heavily discussed Rafael’s love for farming and animals.
Others who attended were Angeles City Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin and First District Rep. Carmelo “Jonjon” Lazatin. Both are children of Tarzan.
