DepEd holds instructional competence capacity building for non-LET Senior HS teachers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — About 1,356 Senior High School teachers in Central Luzon who are not yet Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) passers will undergo this week a simultaneous capacity building on enhanced instructional competence.

It will be held in six clusters in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, and Bataan.

“We want to keep our non-LET passers because we have come to love our teachers. They have taught for the last two years and they are given five years to acquire these qualifications to be appointed in permanent teaching positions,” Department of Education Regional Director Beatriz G. Torno said in a statement.

The capacity-building activity primarily aims to strengthen the critical competencies of teachers in the various disciplines of the Senior High School curriculum; gain deeper understanding of the general education, professional education, and the field of specialization; and achieve greater level of confidence and competence in taking the LET which is scheduled on September 30.

“Modules of the three-day capacity building include the topics on the social dimension of education, principles of teaching education technology, curriculum development, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, general education subject areas, and fields of specialization,” Torno added.
