Some 80 children at the pediatric ward of the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) and 110 women inmates at the Bulacan Provincial Jail received an early Christmas gifts during social action activity sponsored by the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals-Bulacan Central Chapter (BCBP-BCC) on Saturday.
The gift giving is part of the chapter’s program this year under the social action ministry headed by couple Abet and Marivie Santiago sharing the blessings for the 2018.
“We aim to provide BCC members with opportunities to develop the practice of volunteerism, the habit of giving, and solidarity with the least of our brethren. For this Christmas season, we have identified the sick children confined at the provincial hospital as well as some 100 women inmates in the provincial jail as beneficiaries,” BCBP-BC Chapter Head Bro. Eric Reyes said.
Reyes said, the sick children from the BMC pediatric ward received medical kits and vitamins while women inmates got kits containing basic hygiene items, vitamins and simple foodstuffs.
Reyes added that the said gift giving was also a way of giving back the blessings they received to the less fortunate. –ELOISA SILVERIO
