CLARK FREEPORT — The Pretzel Maker, one of the favorite snacks in the US has found its new home at SM Clark.
On Saturday, Pretzel Maker opened its third store in the Philippines after Festival Mall and SM South Mall, marking its first expansion in Asia, said Carlos Miguel Eleazar Ochoa, the country manager of VAVEL Food Inc., the Pretzel Maker master franchisee in the Philippines.
Ochoa said Pretzel Maker offers wide array of snack foods freshly serve for customers, the company originated from Atlanta, Georgia USA and has 350 franchise in the US and 70 branches worldwide including Canada, Dubai and Guam.
“That is why the Pretzel Maker in the Philippines is the first in Asia,” said Ochoa on the sideline of the SM City Clark store opening.
Pretzels are made from fresh ingredients. What we made here is big and soft compared to other stores selling the same products, said Ochoa during interview with local and Clark-based reporters.
He added that Pretzel Maker decision to locate at SM City Clark is because the mall caters to all type of people. “That’s the main reason we chose SM for our store in Pampanga.”
“We are also planning to open other branches in Makati City such as in Ayala Mall and other malls including the [Villar] Vista malls.” Ochoa pointed out.
Anything that has almond, Ochoa said is Pretzel Maker’s best sellers including the green cheese, mini dogs and pretzel dogs especially made for the Filipino market.
Price ranges from around P80 while combo meal is around P125 to P150 that comes with a drink and dip.
Ochoa said Pretzel Maker will soon open three to four stores next year. Hopefully at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Boracay and SM Mall of Asia and Baguio.
“We are slowly trying to expand outside of Metro Manila but not too fast because we have to made sure that we have a very good support system and management group before we can venture out. So far SM City Clark is our farthest store from home base.” Ochoa told reporters.
