ANGELES CITY — Museo ng Kasaysayang Panlipunan ng Pilipinas and partners invite youngsters to join the “Lugud at Sinta” Kapampangan Love Story Writing Contest.
“The competition aims to promote and preserve the Kapampangan language in its artistic and creative form, discover and harness the talent of young Kapampangan writers, encourage love letter writing, and foster a culture of familial love and care,” museum curator Bettina Arriola said.

It has two categories: 18 to 30 years old and 17 years old and below.
“Literary piece must be entirely original and must not have been published in any publication or social media. The story must be the love story of the writer’s parents or grandparents,” Arriola added.
It must be written in Kapampangan and at least 800 to 1,000 words.
“Official entry form in handwritten letter format on a personally designed stationary letter must be addressed to Valentina, as if you are writing a letter to her about the story of your parents or your grandparents,” Arriola furthered.
Attach a photo of the couple and a digital copy on word document must be sent to [email protected].
“All entries must be submitted at the Museo ng Kasaysayang Panlipunan ng Pilipinas- in the contest log form, place a postage stamp which is available in the museum office and drop your entry in the post mail box located at the main entrance of the museum. Deadline of submission of entry is on February 7, 2019,” Arriola said.
Entries will be judged based on Content-30 percent, Uniqueness-30 percent, Style/Tone-30 percent, and Presentation-10 percent.
Winners per category will each get PhP5,000 and a certificate plus one night hotel accommodation, dinner date for two, and exclusive Kalesa ride tour. 1strunner up in each category takes home PhP3,000 while 2ndrunner up gets PhP2,000.
The museum holds the competition in partnership with Angeles City Tourism Office, Imerex Plaza Hotel, Culture and Arts Council of Angeles, Singsing-Center of Kapampangan Cultural Heritage, and Philippine Information Agency.
