SM restroom personnel returns P.6-million cash

A restroom personnel of SM City Marilao displayed undeniable honesty when he returned P600,000 worth of cash and other valuables to a mall patron recently.

The Good Samaritan identified as Joemar Calubad, who was assigned in SM City Marilao restroom near mall’s food court, found a black bag containing a guess wallet, baby diaper and a bundle of money amounting to P.6M. 

Gladiz May Latiza, SM Marilao Public Relation Manager said Calubad immediately reported the recovered valuables to the mall’s Customer Relations Services Office (CRSO).

It was learned that few minutes later, the owner identified as Marian Simbulan went to CRS Office wherein the said cash and valuables were returned to her intact.

The owner of the cash-filled bag heaved a sigh of relief when she claimed her belongings. 
She was very grateful to have the money returned and even recognized and praised Calubad’s remarkable honesty in her social media post that garnered over two thousand likes and  hundreds of comments.

Calubad said he had no second thoughts of returning the valuables to the owner. His first impulse when he saw the bag was to turn it over to the Customer Relations Services of the mall and look for the rightful owners wherein he claimed that it never once entered in his mind  to pocket the money

“Honesty is the best policy po. Gusto kong pong gawin ng matuwid ang trabaho ko,” said  Calubad.
