The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted separate buy-bust operations that resulted in the arrest of the No. 1 target-listed drug personality in the province of Davao del Sur and the No. 7 target-listed drug personality in Davao region.
PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Roy Briones Soria, alias Baroy, No. 1 provincial target-listed drug personality in Davao del Sur, and Anuar Muňos Bessario, No. 7 target-listed drug personality in Davao region.
At around 7:40 PM on January 10, 2020, elements of PDEA Regional Office XI (PDEA RO XI) under the supervision of Director Antonio E. Rivera and local police conducted a buy-bust operation in Mabini Public Market, Mabini, Davao de Oro that resulted in the arrest of Besaro, and seizure of suspected shabu, weighing more or less 1.2 grams, with an estimated value of Php8,160.00.
Another buy-bust operation was conducted at around 6:30 PM on January 13, 2020 in Aznar Street, Barangay Poblacion, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur that led to the arrest of Soria, who yielded suspected shabu, weighing more or less one gram with an estimated value of Php6,800.00.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
