CSF convention center to rise in Calulut

San Fernando’s new convention center will soon rise in Barangay Calulut.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, together with Pampanga 3rd District Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 1st District Engineer Almer Miranda, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed convention center.

The project, which has a budget of P300 million, was initiated by Gonzales together with the DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office. During his speech, Gonzales said the convention center will be the “perfect venue to host or facilitate major events” as the local government aims to help decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

In an interview, City Engineer Anele David explained that the convention center will have 5,000-maximum seating capacity within an 8-hectare property provided by the local government of San Fernando.

“Ito po ay proyekto ng DPWH na pinondohan po ni Congressman Gonzales at ang contribution po ng Syudad San Fernando rito ay yung property or lote kung saan itatayo ang convention center,” David said.

Meanwhile, Santiago expressed his gratitude to Gonzales for choosing the capital city to be the venue of his project.

He furthered that the local government of San Fernando is pushing for Barangays Calulut, Malpitic, Bulaon, and Sindalan to be the next growth areas.

“Kasama sa development ng San Fernando ‘yan na bumubuo sa comprehensive development plan—ang magkaroon tayo ng mga pasilidad lalo na dito sa Tourism Road at sa ating mga economic growth,” Santiago said.

Meanwhile, the city mayor also encouraged everyone to support the city’s projects and initiatives in order to sustain the development of the capital city.

One of the biggest projects of the Santiago administration to date is the Civic Center located in Barangay San Isidro which will house various vital offices catering to the needs of the Fernandinos.

This is just a manifestation that the local government of San Fernando is steadfast to its commitment to provide better and innovative infrastructure projects to achieve its agenda “Moderno at Ligtas na Imprastruktura, Tungo sa Maunlad na Ekonomiya.”
