The Department of Justice (DoJ) has quashed the sedition charges levelled against Kapampangan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David and five others for lack of evidence.
The sedition charges was filed by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) after a video accusing President Rodrigo Duterte and his family of being involved in the illegal drugs trade went viral.
The DOJ ruled the bishops showed no intention of committing sedition and the complaints filed by the CIDG lacked evidence. Also cleared were Archbishop Socrates Villegas, Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco and Bishop Teodoro Bacani, Fr. Robert Reyes and La Salle Bro. Armin Luistro.
