On its 15th year, TriClark Triathlon Team, one of the oldest triathlon teams in the country, has signed a title sponsorship deal with SCANIA Philippines, a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy trucks and buses.
The one-year partnership signed on February 28 is a result of both organization’s commitment in promoting sports tourism towards a sustainable future.
“We are excited to work with SCANIA Philippines. We want our members and every individual in their company to lead an active lifestyle. And while doing it, we want to minimize our environmental footprint, our contribution to the bigger goal of sustainability,” said John Villanueva, president of TriClark.
“We will be doing multiport training camps and events and the aim is to encourage more people to jump into the lifestyle. We have been doing this for 15 years and the mission to promote the sport of triathlon, duathlon, running and cycling never ends,” Villanueva added.
“This is a great opportunity for Scania to be a true partner-driven leader in the shift towards a sustainable transport system. Together with the Team, we can help promote sustainability by educating the public and sports community and hopefully change future behavior.” Leilani Lim Tan, vice president of BJ Mercantile, Inc.
BJ Mercantile, Incorporated is the appointed sales and services dealer of Scania in the Philippines.
BJ Mercantile Inc. Marketing Manager Peachy Tamayo also announced that series of community development projects are set this 2020.
Amid the threat of COVID-2019, TriClark and Scania Philippines believed that having a healthy lifestyle and a green community will help fight the spread of this viral disease.
Present in the signing held are TriClark Founding President Rene Ricardo Tayag, TriClark Vice President Joseph Andrew Coronel, BJ Mercantile Inc. IT Manager Alvin Tan and BJ Mercantile Inc. Sales Manager Don Ramos.
