To ensure the safety of employees amidst threat of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID -19), Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will implement a four-day work week starting March 16, 2020.
Following the issuance of the Labor Advisory No. 9 by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the state-owned firm adopted an alternative work schedule for its employees.
In an inter-office memorandum, CDC employees are required to render 10 hours of work from Monday to Thursday, starting 7 AM to 6 PM.
While Friday was declared as day-off for its employees, the implementation of the flexible working hours will not hinder the delivery of services of CDC offices to its stakeholders.
Skeletal force for CDC departments and divisions will be made available on Fridays. These include Trade Facilitation Division, Maintenance Units from Engineering Services Group, Public Safety Division, and Health and Sanitation Division.
According to CDC, employees who are assigned as skeletal force on Fridays will have their day-off every Monday.
The state-owned firm mentioned the implementation of the 4-day work week will only be adopted for its offices.
This does not cover workplaces of its locators and other private companies in the Freeport. However, they are encouraged to study and consider the same guidelines by DOLE.
