CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Provincial government of Pampanga launched a home-based face mask livelihood program in response to supply shortage.
“Under the program, we are providing 600 ready to sew pieces of garments to each home-based sewer beneficiary. They will each receive a total payment of PhP3,000 once they are done making the items or PhP5 per piece,” 2nd district board member Fritzie David-Dizon said.
“Each beneficiary will be given the task of producing face masks that will be distributed mainly to frontliners including medical and on-ground personnel who are working to help curb the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the province,” the official added.
Initial beneficiaries come from the municipalities of Lubao, Porac, San Simon and Bacolor as well as the cities of Mabalacat and San Fernando.
About a hundred thousand reusable face masks are still expected to be rolled out in several municipalities in the province as the country continues its fight against COVID-19.
