BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) assured the public that it has sufficient supply of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and health workers to treat coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.
BGHMC Chief Glory Baltazar debunked allegations surfacing on social media that the hospital is facing shortages of PPEs.
“With the help of the provincial government and Department of Health, we have enough PPEs and other supplies at BGHMC for all employees who are required to wear them,” she stressed.
Moreover, the medical center chief also assured that they have enough personnel to cater to COVID-19 cases recorded in the province.
“We have more than 200 doctors and nurses and other staff members who continue to serve and treat BGHMC patients. They have no direct contact and tested negative to the disease so they continue to serve the hospital,” Baltazar stated.
She assured that their personnel are competent enough to treat COVID-19 patients.
“13 out of the latest 15 cases of recoveries in Bataan were treated at BGH,” she disclosed.
