CLARK FREEPORT—To support frontliners in the fight against COVID-19, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) recently donated the first batch of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and materials to the members of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City.
During the activity, CDC Vice Chairman Benjamin Defensor, Jr. presented the PPEs and other essential materials to Commanding General, PAF Lt.Gen. Allen Paredes. Defensor was a former PAF Chief who was later promoted as AFP Chief of Staff.
The donated materials include safety goggles, medical gloves, isolation face shields, N95 masks, isolation waterproof clothing, shoe cover, and cover-all protective suits. These protective materials will be distributed to PAF medical front liners stationed at Clark Air Base Hospital at the Airforce City inside this Freeport and at Air Force General Hospital in Villamor Air Base.
CDC headed by its President and CEO Noel F. Manankil has partnered with CILA to continuously provide PPEs and other protective materials to frontline workers on various areas including the Freeport’s adjacent communities. Meanwhile, some members of the CILA who are into manufacturing industry have also shifted parts of their operations to be able produce protective equipment and offer essential supplies for front liners.
As an active Air Force Reservists Unit, the state-owned firm is setting up an expanded medical center in the Air Force City to serve active AFP personnel, PNP and reservists.
