‘Apat ng Sulok ng Buhay’: CSF best practice of social distancing

“Apat na sulok ng buhay” or square of life is the City Government of San Fernando’s best practice in implementing social distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Initiated by the City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office (CPOSCO), headed by Louie Clemente, the practice includes painting of perfect square shapes in public places including groceries, drugstores, and pawnshops.

“Around poblacion, siyam na mga establishment ang nalagyan natin ng ganito particularly doon sa maraming tao o iyong madalas na puntahan ng tao,” Clemente said.

The CPOSCO also encouraged all establishments to implement social distancing by also putting marks on the floor to guide their costumers in observing the one-meter physical distancing.

“May mga iniatitives din naman patungkol sa social distancing ang mga business establishment natin, pero minabuti pa rin natin na maglagay ng mga ganito upang matulungan na rin sila,” Clemente added.

Aside from the square marks, the CPOSCO had already drawn lines in some areas of poblacion since the Enhanced Community Quarantine started.

Clemente added that “squares of life” markers are also set to be painted in the Old Public Market and New Public Market for the consumers to strictly observe social distancing. (PR)
