Converge ICT provides IATF with free internet

Major telecommunications and cable television service provider Converge ICT Solutions has augmented the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) with free, fast, end-to-end fiber internet connection.

Converge ICT Solutions President and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said that with this, the IATF has been managing their communication channels and data transmission better, allowing them to work and disseminate important information to the Filipinos more efficiently.

Converge provided the IATF with two circuits of its enterprise-class fiber internet which will enable the IATF to conduct uninterrupted coordination through VoIP, video conferencing and other applications.

Uy explained that he understands the importance of the timely and fast dissemination of COVID-19 information for the government during this critical period.

“A stable and reliable internet service is necessary for the success of our pandemic response and no other agency needs it more than the IATF. Converge provided this support in order to help them fulfill their mandate to keep the public informed, healthy and safe,” Uy stressed.

National Task Force COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said that in this era of COVID-19, they are very happy that Converge ICT Solutions quickly responded to address their need for a stable internet connection.

“We no longer experience disconnection issues during our data transmission and virtual meetings. We definitely have a more efficient and smoother workflow now to help more Filipinos in fighting this pandemic,” Galvez pointed out.

For the past five months, the IATF has been tracking and recording COVID-related statistics in order to create the National Action Plan.

The augmentation of IATF’s communications capability is one of the many ways Converge ICT is responding in this unprecedented situation.

Aside from giving more than a thousand units of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Angeles City hospitals, local government units in Pampanga, and the Provincial Government of Tarlac, Converge also wants to ensure that Filipinos get the chance to enjoy fast internet for the best quality experience.
