BULACAN-Despite of re-implementation of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) that started since last Monday, the number of COVID-19 cases in this province continue rising with 93 more persons tested positive as of Friday afternoon.
The total number of infected Bulakenyos is now 1,665 wherein 1055 here are active cases and has 52 deaths.
In spite of increasing number of cases, the Bulacan Provincial Health Office also announced that the number of recovered patients were increasing too with a total of 560 recoveries.
Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, PHO-PH head said on Friday, out of 93 new confirmed cases, 29 were fresh and 64 were late cases.
Among the new cases are 28 from the City of San Jose del Monte, 18 from City of Meycauayan, 10 from the City of Malolos, 8 from Obando, 5 from Sta. Maria, 3 from Angat, 2 cases each from Bustos, Guiguinto, Norzagaray, and Plaridel while 1 case each from Balagtas, Bulakan, Calumpit, Pandi, Pulilan, San Miguel, and Hagonoy.
“The two cities — San Jose del Monte and Malolos and the town of Marilao have a total of 399; 181, and 174 with a total of 754 cases respectively, which accounts for almost 45 percent of the overall tally in the province,” Gomez said.
She added that Marilao is the municipality with the highest number of confirmed cases followed by Sta. Maria and Balagtas while the town of Doña Remedios Trinidad town has the lowest with 7 cases.
The local government units in the province have implemented stricter measures to ensure that social distancing and guidelines set by the government are being followed in its respective localities, Dra. Gomez added.
Meanwhile, the City of San Jose del Monte will impose a strict implementation of Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ) starting August 10 to August 18.
Mayor Arthur Robes on Friday said that for those who work outside of CSJDM, they were advised to stay near their respective workplaces or just stay home when the strict MECQ goes into effect.
“The city government has given the residents a few days to look for temporary housing near their workplaces outside the city,” the mayor added.
He added that they are not in total lockdown but they will only have to tighten the “Oplan Sita” in all boundaries with access from National Capital Region (NCR) as per directive of Governor Daniel Fernando to CSJDM LGUs and other concerned government agencies particularly the police, and they will only allowed to go out with the strict protocols the frontliners such as the doctors as they are the only ones moving from one hospital to another.
