Third phase of Ditabuyan Falls access road to be completed this March

CABANATUAN CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is targeting the completion of the third phase of the access road leading to Ditabuyan Falls by March 2021.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineer Gerardo de Guzman said the 2.809-kilometer road in barangay Cadaclan, Pantabangan will provide better access for those visiting the emerging tourist destination.

“This project, with a total amount of PhP47 million under the 2020 General Appropriations Act, will not only boost the tourism industry but also improve access to social services and will definitely create economic progress in the province,” he added.

De Guzman disclosed that the fourth phase of the project has already started in February 2021. 

Implementation of the multi-year project tourism road project began in 2018 with the initial release of PhP64.17 million funded under the Department of Tourism-DPWH Convergence Program. 

In 2019, the project received an additional funding of P18.62 million wherein the scope of work included road concreting and construction of grouted riprap.

“For the three-year implementation of the project, a total of 9.904 lane kilometers of earth road has been concreted,” De Guzman furthered. 

Located 23 kilometers away from Pantabangan town proper, Ditabuyan Falls has been gaining popularity among tourists and is a frequented area by mountaineers.
