Rain showers expected over most parts of PH

MANILA – The southwest monsoon affecting Luzon and Western Visayas will continue to bring rains over parts of these areas, a state forecaster said Tuesday.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Mindoro provinces, Palawan, Cavite, Bataan, Zambales, and Pangasinan.

“The rest of Luzon will have fair weather, partly cloudy to cloudy skies, rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms,” said Meno Mendoza, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist.

He added the rain showers may only last for a short period.

Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Mendoza.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the northern and western sections of Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, Mendoza said PAGASA is monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The tropical depression was last seen 2,460 kilometers east of Southern Luzon.”We don’t expect it to enter PAR. Currently, it has no direct effect on any part of the country,” he said. (PNA)
