Filinvest helps Balanga, sends sacks of rice and food for flood evacuees

Filinvest Land Inc. turned over to the City of Balanga, Bataan 160 sacks of rice, 1200 packs of canned goods, and 3,300 packs of noodles to help around 1,400 families evacuated due to severe flooding caused by strong and sustained rainfall last week.

Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia received the donation today from Filinvest. “Ako po at ang buong Balanga ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa Filinvest sa lahat ng nadalang tulong ngayon dito sa Balanga, Bataan para sa mga naapektuhan ng baha, pati po ng COVID, mga na-quarantine and of course the ongoing ECQ. Thank you very much to Filinvest. Napakaraming tulong ang napadala at kami po ay very grateful and thankful to have Filinvest as a partner in our community,” said Mayor Francis Garcia.

In an interview, Filinvest Land Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer Tristan Las Marias said, “Filinvest is committed to being an active and supportive member of any community where it operates. When we heard the news that about a thousand families were flooded and were being evacuated in Balanga, we knew right away that the City will need help to provide food for them for days. This is why we immediately mobilized our team to send relief and we are happy to be amongst the first from outside the City to help.”

The real estate developer said it has been Filinvest’s advocacy to help our countrymen at times of calamity as a way of giving back to the people and partner local governments.
