MANILA – Some areas in the country will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of Typhoon Nyatoh which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the weather bureau said Thursday.
Such weather condition will prevail over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and the provinces of Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) cautioned against possible flash floods or landslides in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains.
“Nyatoh” was last located 1,440 kilometers east of central Luzon.
“There is now a slim chance that Nyatoh will enter PAR,” said weather forecaster Sam Duran, as the typhoon is moving north at 20 kms. per hour.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Apayao, and Aurora. It will also cause isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon.
The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas.
Gale warning has been issued over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, the western seaboards of northern and central Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of the Visayas. Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
Over Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
