The former deputy commissioner of the insurance commission has taken his oath as Undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Atty. Randy Escolango was inducted by Labor Secretary Bello on March 01, 2022, after being appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte on February 22, 2022. He replaced Undersecretary Philip Paredes after the latter retired from work.
“ I am deeply honored and thankful to be entrusted with a very important office in the Department of Labor and Employment” Escolango said. Before moving to the Insurance Commission in 2017 where he also headed the Legal Services Group, he was Deputy Administrator of legal Affairs of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and had a stint as Officer-in-Charge of the said Government Owned and Controlled Corp. (GOCC).His other engagement in and out of government service Undersecretary Escolango was an Officer of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxillary (PCGA) where he is a Rear Admiral. He is also the President of New Era University Alumni Association, Inc. member of the International Bas Association, and Certified Treasury Professional.
