President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vowed more projects nationwide to reach the one million housing units per year target of his administration.
He led today the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Palayan City Township of Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) in Nueva Ecija where 44 towers with about 11,000 units are expected to rise.
The 11-hectare township located in barangay Atate features a housing community equipped with amenities to facilitate economic and social activities among target beneficiaries.
In his speech, Marcos disclosed the plan to establish millions of housing units in the coming years, particularly in and around Metro Manila, to address the housing problem by providing shelter for Filipino families.
“I’m glad that we are continuing [housing program] and I know that it will not be the last. We will continue to break ground in different parts of the country so that our dream of one million homes a year, when achieved, will provide a solution to the housing problem of our fellow Filipinos. Let us continue and I am sure that we will be able to do what we need to do in the service of the Filipinos (I’m glad that we are continuing [housing project] and I know it will not be the last.
The Chief Executive emphasized that the Groundbreaking Ceremony is a testament to the government’s commitment to build houses for its target beneficiaries.
“I am glad to be with you all in our groundbreaking. This just proves our continuous effort to provide housing units for millions of Filipinos who have no house of their own.
Marcos thanked DHSUD and the city government of Palayan for supporting the new development.
He also encouraged the public to support the campaign of the government which seeks to build safe and convenient houses for Filipino families. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
