CAMP OLIVAS — A joint operation led by the Limay police, Limay Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (FARMC), and Bantay Dagat apprehended eight individuals engaging in unauthorized dynamite fishing off Limay, Bataan.
In a report to PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the suspects were identified only as Bernaldo, Maceda, Tapion, and two others who were onboard an unmarked fishing boat while those apprehended onboard F/B Pam-Dave were identified as Punay and two others.
The suspects were caught red-handed collecting dead fish called Alubaybay, which was later confirmed by a fish examiner from the Provincial Agriculturist of Bataan as product of dynamite fishing.
Authorities confiscated 200 grams of Alubaybay fish valued at P9,800, three fish finders with a total value of P45,000.00, six sets of fine fish nets valued at P42,000.00, and three motorized fishing boats valued at P150,000.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 92 of Republic Act 10654.
“The entire PRO3 police force remains committed to the resolute enforcement of our intensified anti-crime campaign in Central Luzon,” Hidalgo said.
